The University of Missouri played host to one of the biggest honors in college football.
While many of fans arrived in the early morning hours, their excitement never dwindled Saturday.
Homecoming day started off with a bang.
A sea of black and gold filled the MU quad for ESPN's college game day and to cheer on their tigers.
Many of the Mizzou faithful wore their best tiger wear along with some of their four legged friends.
The crowd was filled with excitement but boos overtook the fans when Lee Corso made his final pick.
Even though Lee Corso picked the Sooners to win at the homecoming game Mizzou showed a lot of pride and had over 18,000 fans show up at ESPN Gameday.
"I'm not that surprised because I know they are picked to win, they're first in the nation, but i was disappointed because I was hoping especially with the crowd here he'd pick Mizzou," one tiger fan said.
Mizzou crushed the previous attendance record for ESPN's College Game Day which was over 15,000 held by the University of Nebraska.
Even though Corso didn't predict a W for the tigers, fans and some ESPN celebrities hoped for the best.
"If those guys in that locker room believe in each other and believe in what they're coaches have taught them they should be fine," ESPN Broadcaster Desmond Howard said.
"I think that will be incredible if they are able to pull off the upset, ya know, I'd be happy for the tigers because this is something that they need, they've been waiting for this kind of win." ESPN Reporter Erin Andrews said.
Because MU was the first to hold a homecoming, the event holds a special place in campus.
