COLUMBIA, MO. -- The annual Mizzou homecoming parade will begin on Saturday at noon and wind throughout campus and downtown Columbia.

The 2010 Grand Marshal will be Russ Mitchell, who graduated from Mizzou in 1982 with a bachelor’s degree in journalism.

Mitchell is the anchor of the CBS Evening News Sunday Edition and a CBS national news correspondent.

The lifelong Tiger fan wants to see a large crowd at Saturday’s parade.

“I offered to play guest quarterback for the Tigers in the big game against Oklahoma," Mitchell said. "Everybody thought that was a bad idea. I do know that I get to ride in the parade and I get to wave. I get to lead the crowd on Saturday night with a hardy chant of MIZ-ZOU.”
