COLUMBIA, MO. -- The University of Missouri homecoming football game with the number one ranked Oklahoma Sooners is the national game of the week on Saturday night.

College football analysts and experts are broadcasting this weekend from the Mizzou campus on ESPN’s College GameDay program.

The Golden Girls, the Mizzou Cheerleaders, Truman the Tiger and Tiger fans of all ages cheered for their football team during the taping of ESPN’s College GameDay. This was the first time in school history that ESPN set up their nationally televised show on the historic Francis Quadrangle.

“I think it’s going to bring in a lot of revenue for the town and get people excited for the football team and the future recruits that come in," MU Junior Michael O’Brien said. "I think this is great as a whole, and of course, you can’t forget Erin Andrews is here. That’s not bad either.”

ESPN Correspondent Erin Andrews was one of the most popular celebrities with the crowd. Andrews helped get the crowd excited along with other ESPN personalities including Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit, Chris Fowler and Desmond Howard. The ESPN stars stirred up the crowd with their comments during the taping of the show.

There were plenty of celebrity sightings at the taping. Play by play announcer Brent Musburger almost made a prediction on the big game.

“I don’t know," Musburger said. "Just give us a chance to have a close game before you pull away.”

The ESPN College GameDay show will hit the airwaves live at 8 a.m. on Saturday. Mizzou officials want to see another big crowd for the live show and the Mizzou homecoming parade afterwards at noon.

ESPN GameDay radio will also be broadcasting all day tomorrow on Walsworth Plaza in front of Mizzou Arena.
