JEFFERSON CITY, MO. -- The state democratic party is accusing republican senate candidate Roy Blunt of illegally employing an immigrant 20 years ago.
Blunt's campaign said that's false.
Democrats have released a 1990 letter from then-Secretary of State Blunt, seeking help for a Nicaraguan woman seeking political asylum in the U.S. In the letter, Blunt said the woman "has done some work for Roseann," who was his wife.
A Blunt spokesman said the woman merely helped at some church events, and was never employed by the Blunts.
