COLUMBIA, MO. -- Update: Monday, Oct. 18 at 3:42 p.m.

Women's and Children's Hospital officials said the cafeteria opened after 11 a.m.

Original Story:

No one was injured after a small fire at the new Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Columbia.

The Columbia Fire Department received the call at 10:21 a.m.

When firefighters arrived, they found a small fire inside a stove in the hospital cafeteria. A fire official said it appeared like a grease build up inside the stove sparked the flames. There was no damage to the building.

Columbia/Boone County Health Department and Columbia Fire Department investigators responded to the fire. They expect the cafeteria will open again by the end of the day.
