JEFFERSON CITY, MO. -- Update: Wednesday, Oct. 13 at 6:05 p.m.
A van and a dump truck crashed Wednesday around 1 p.m. in Jefferson City.
The driver in the van attempted to make a left hand turn from 179 onto Missouri Boulevard. The intersection does not allow left hand turns. The driver turned in front of the dump truck causing the crash.
The passenger in the van had to be extricated from the vehicle. Both the driver and the passenger in the van, both of California, Mo., were taken to Capital Regional Hospital with serious injuries.
The dump truck driver was not injured.
The van was totaled in the crash, while the dump truck suffered minor damage.

Crews cleaned up a crash in Jefferson City Wednesday afternoon.
A dump truck crashed into black passenger vehicle on Missouri Boulevard and Commerce Drive.
It took crews about a half and hour to clean up the crash.
