MEXICO, Mo. (AP) -- The trial for a man accused of killing his wife in Pike County nearly two decades ago is scheduled to start next spring in Audrain County.

Fifty-nine-year-old Douglas Howery Sr. has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder in Betty Ann Howery's death. She was 44 when she disappeared in early 1992 from the couple's farm near Annada in Pike County.

Investigators began looking into the case again after human bones were found in a septic tank at the farm in October 2008. Howery was arrested the following May at his Springfield home.

The Hannibal Courier-Post reports that Howery's trial has been set for next April in Audrain County, where it was ordered moved.

He remains jailed in Pike County.
