JEFFERSON CITY, MO. -- The Jefferson City Council agreed to put the question on the April 5, 2011 ballot Monday night.
The decision follows the submission of a petition from people who want to scrap the current waste hauling agreement, which charges almost all city residents the same for trash service, regardless of their level of use, in order to pay for recycling.
The council had only two choices: 1) Accept immediately the change as submitted by the petitioners or 2) Place the question of a ballot next year
