JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) -- Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon has vetoed five bills.

The governor vetoed the bills Wednesday, which was the last day he could prevent legislation from becoming law. None of the measures had garnered significant attention during this year's regular legislative session.

Nixon says he vetoed one bill over concerns it could cause problems for consumers. That bill allowed lenders to sell memberships in automobile clubs and motor vehicle service contracts.

The other vetoed bills dealt with transferring property, setting up special state accounts and allowing members of corporate boards to consent to actions through e-mail.
