Boil advisory in effect for area in north Columbia

COLUMBIA, MO. -- A boil advisory is in effect for North Waterfront Drive and Driftwood Court.

A 6-inch water main broke early Tuesday morning causing the water pressure to drop substantially.

It will take 48 hours before it can be determined to lift the boil advisory.

Officials urge customers to take precautions by boiling water before use and consumption.
