Michael Heaston has passed away after being kept alive on life support. He died around 9:30 Tuesday night at University Hospital.
A Columbia Police Traffic Officer is completing a crash investigation and an accident reconstruction.

Michael Heaston is on life support after his Harley Davidson collided with a Columbia City bus.
Heaston’s family said that he is being kept alive so his organs can be harvested.

A motorcyclist is in critical condition after a crash with a Columbia City bus Monday morning.
Michael Heaston, 34, of Centralia, Mo. was going westbound on Vandiver Drive near Burlington Road when he tried to avoid hitting the bus, traveling southbound, by going into the turn lane.
Heaston’s black Harley Davidson fell on its side and collided with the bus.
Heaston was taken to University Hospital with serious injuries. He was wearing a helmet.
