Volunteers and church members gathered Saturday to help build the new River City Habitat for Humanity house on East Atchison Street in Jefferson City.
The house is the sixth house built the group in Missouri.
The house was built for the Jefferson City resident Danielle Smith and her family.
Danielle Smith, the new homeowner said, "I feel very blessed. It's been a long process and a long way, but it's finally happening. So I'm very excited."
The habitat group uses donations and volunteer labor to build houses for people who are unable to obtain conventional financing to buy a home.
The River City Habitat for Humanity will break ground on their 68th local home by the end of this year.
