JEFFERSON CITY, MO. -- Missouri Department of Transportation crews will make traffic adjusts on the Missouri River Bridge in Jefferson City to begin work on the new pedestrian/bicycle attachment project.
The traffic adjustments will begin Friday, July 23 around 7 p.m. on the U.S. 54 Eastbound/ U.S. 63 Northbound lanes.
Traffic adjustments include:
-Closure of the Main Street ramp
-Lanes leading to and crossing bridge will be narrowed
-Motorists will be able to cross the bridge using three 11 foot lanes
- A concrete barrier will be installed to separate lanes of traffic from the construction
- The speed limit will be reduced from 60 mph to 45 mph through the area
Changes will remain in place until the $6.7 million project is completed in Spring 2011
