COLUMBIA, MO. -- A Columbia man is in custody after a four hour standoff with police.

Columbia police arrested Duran G. Pipes, 26, Tuesday around 10 p.m. when he peacefully came out of his house on West Broadway.

Pipes had a warrant out for his arrest after an incident on June 14 where pipes reportedly assaulted and choked ex-girlfriend.

Witnesses called police yesterday to let them know Pipes was home, but he wouldn't come out of his house.

A female and a child was in the house with Pipes, they were both uninjured at the end of the standoff.

West Broadway between Garth Avenue and McBaine Avenue was closed for a brief time.

Pipes' bond is set at more than $100,000.
