Memorial Day kicks off the summer grilling season while pools open across communities.

Here’s the day’s forecast to make sure your day off goes on without a hitch.

The rest of Memorial Day will feature only an isolated chance of popcorn variety showers and storms, mainly east of Highway 54.

The rest of Mid-Missouri will be partly sunny, hot and humid with highs in the middle 80s, though the humidity will make it feel closer to 90 degrees.

The best opportunity for outdoor activities such as grilling, swimming, etc. will come after 5 p.m. when the rain threat diminishes completely after a cold front swings through, bringing a push of somewhat drier and more comfortable air.
