JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) -- The State Board of Education has selected a three-person board to take control of a north St. Louis County school district.

The special administrative board will assume control of the Riverview Gardens School District on July 1. The district, of about 6,600 students, has been unaccredited since 2007.

The three people appointed to run the district are:

-- Lynn Beckwith, a professor of urban education at the University of Missouri-St. Louis who is a former public school superintendent.

-- Veronica Morrow-Reel, a loan coordinator for Citizens National Bank in Maplewood.

-- Mark Tranel, the director of the Public Policy Research Center at the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
