OZARK, Mo. (AP) -- A southwest Missouri toddler has died after falling from a pickup truck and being run over.
Police in Ozark say 2-year-old Jacobie Goetz was fatally injured Wednesday in a parking lot outside an apartment complex.
The boy's father, Daniel Goetz, tells KTTS-FM he had just got out of the truck and unbuckled his son's car seat. Goetz says he was talking to another man when he heard the emergency brake pop and the truck started to roll.
The father says he opened the door to try to stop the truck and Jacobie fell out as the vehicle continued to roll.
Police say they don't expect to seek charges.
