COLE COUNTY, MO. -- The pace at Cole County polling places was a little slow for Tuesday's election.Cole County Clerk Marvin Register expects only about 12 percent of voters to cast a ballot.
The register said that is pretty typical for an April election, which still costs taxpayers nearly $40,000 dollars.
"Oh, its always disappointing," said Register. "I've been doing this for eight years and I've been disappointed since day one when I see my April election turnout. But, you know, we try what we can try, we push it. We do everything we can possibly do to get people to vote."
