EUGENE, MO. -- The Eugene (Cole R-5) school district residents are voting on a $1.5 million bond issue.

The measure will not increase the tax levy.

For that reason, school officials say they expect the issue to pass.

"We've had very good support from our community in the past," Eugene Superintendent Mark Blythe said. "We've always passed everything with a good percentage."

Blythe said he would be "surprised and disappointed" if it's a "No" vote.

School officials said the money will be used to: buy land for a future building site, upgrade school technology, install security cameras on campus, and build an athletic track.
