JEFFERSON CITY, MO. -- The top democrat in the Missouri House is suggesting the elimination of some state tax breaks to help balance the budget.
House minority leader Paul LeVota said spending cuts alone won't close the gap in next year's budget.
One of the state workers unions said the state needs to find additional sources of income, warning that more cuts will hurt workers.
"If there are additional cuts to the staff at the agencies where we work, our ability to do our jobs properly is really in danger," Communication Workers of America Bradley Harmon said.
Harmon said the 4,000 workers in his union are also worried about the state privatizing union jobs.
