KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- A federal grand jury is continuing its probe into former House Speaker Rod Jetton.

A grand jury in Kansas City was expected to meet Tuesday and Wednesday to hear testimony about Jetton's handling of a 2005 bill that sought to toughen regulations on sexually oriented businesses.

The adult entertainment industry contributed $35,000 to a political committee shortly before Jetton sent the bill to a House committee whose chairman opposed it.

Jetton denies any wrongdoing and plans to testify Wednesday before grand jurors.

The bill at issue did eventually pass out of the House Committee but never reached the House floor. The Legislature passed a separate version, but it was struck down in court for technical reasons.
