COLUMBIA, MO. -- Columbia’s 7th annual True/False Film Festival is in high gear.

The event started on Thursday and lasts through Sunday.

The festival offers nearly 40 movies from around the world.

Some festival workers are putting in 17 hour days as they continually set up equipment.

Organizers are showing films at several venues in Columbia including the Missouri Theatre on Ninth Street and the Ragtag Cinema on Hitt Street.

Festival workers suggest showing up at least an hour early in order to get a ticket to a certain film.

“Not everybody who buys a ticket always shows up to their thing," Production Team Member Mitch Sewicki said. "They kind of do a count of how many seats are left, and then after that they let people in, depending on how much is left. You can almost always get into a film that you want to see, if you have a pass level or if you get to the venue and buy tickets early.”

Festival organizers predict they will sell more than 25,000 tickets at this year’s event.

The festival also offers live music and a chance to meet the directors of several of the films.
