Woman in critical condition after accident

COLUMBIA -- A 23-year-old woman is in critical condition this morning after being hit by a car.

Columbia Police say around 1 a.m. the woman was crossing Providence Road just south of Stewart Road when Jacob Snider, 19, was driving down Providence.

Columbia police say Snider told them the woman darted out in front him.

Friends of the woman say they had been out drinking earlier that night.

So far no charges have been filed.

The Columbia Traffic Unit is investigating.
