Update: Missing Macon man found dead

MACON COUNTY -- UPDATE: Sunday, 7:45 p.m.

The elderly Macon, Mo. man with dementia who went missing last week has been found dead.

The Highway Patrol says the body of 74-year-old Darrell Allen was found around 1:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon by a person four-wheeling along Normandale Road, just east of MO Route Y in southeast Macon County.

Allen's truck was located shortly after. It was stuck in the mud about one mile east of where Allen's body was found.

Highway Patrol officials say preliminary information shows no signs of foul play, but the exact cause of death is not yet known.

An autopsy is schedule for Monday.

Allen was last seen Tuesday night at his home in rural northeast Macon County.

A Macon man is still missing this morning.

The highway patrol said Darrell Allen, 74, has dementia.

He was last seen Tuesday night at his home, north of Macon.

Allen was driving a pewter colored Chevy S10 pick-up with license plate number 692-LR2.

He's about 6-foot-2 and was wearing a brown corduroy hat and brown coat with blue pants, a flannel shirt and tennis shoes.

The patrol has issued an endangered persons advisory.

If you see Allen, you can call the patrol or simply dial 911 to make a report.
