LINN -- Laid off workers can sign up for free classes at Linn State Technical College to pursue new job opportunities.

The college is offering an accelerated welding skills course for 17 people.

The class needs to be filled by Jan. 26.

To qualify you must be eligible to receive unemployment benefits.

Anyone who's interested should call Linn State's business and industry relations department at 573-897-5238.
