JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) -- The Cole County prosecutor's office has dropped second-degree murder and armed criminal action charges against a 17-year-old suspect in robbery attempt that left one of the robbers dead.

The Jefferson City News-Tribune reported Monday that Anthony President, Kansas City, faces only a charge of first-degree robbery. His arraignment was delayed from Monday to later this month.

In other developments in the case on Monday, Cole County Judge Richard Callahan granted a motion to have the trial of 21-year-old Daniel Hynson heard by a jury from another county.

Eight people, some from Jefferson City and some from Kansas City, have been charged in the Oct. 5 home invasion robbery. Police say one of the guests at the home fired a shot that killed one of the alleged robbers, 19-year-old Lamar Gardner of Kansas City.
