JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) -- Tattoo and body piercing businesses aren't welcome in Jefferson City.

But city leaders are considering whether to change that.

The city council will consider Monday whether to allow and regulate tattoo establishments in the city.

State law permits tattoo and body piercing establishments. But City Counselor Nathan Nickolaus says they've been banned in Jefferson City since at least 1980.
