JEFFERSON CITY, MO. -- Missouri gardeners wanting to learn more about landscaping with plants native to the Show-Me state will be able to get some pointers from conservation officials.

The Missouri Conservation and Agriculture departments are sponsoring workshops on Jan. 29 and Jan. 30 focusing on native plants.

The sessions are designed to encourage people to help restore Missouri's plant biodiversity.

Conversation officials will focus on landscape design, plant selection and maintenance.

There also will be a practical session to create designs at the Rolla Technical Center.

The registration deadline is Jan. 15, and the workshop costs $25.

They start at 8 a.m. in Rolla.
