Columbia waits on federal funds for new buses

COLUMBIA -- Columbia could get some new buses thanks to federal funds.

City Manager Bill Watkins says the Federal 2010 Consolidated Appropriations Act includes $1 million to replace several aging city buses.

Watkins says the city is always looking transportation funding. He adds the city needs to replace about 15 buses altogether.

The bill is awaiting President Obama's signature.
