Several health departments across mid-Missouri are now offering the H1N1 flu vaccine to anyone who wants one, eliminating the need to be a member of one of the CDC priority groups.

Starting Monday, Dec. 14, you can get a free vaccine at the Miller County Health Department any day except Friday.

The Cole County Health Department will offer free H1N1 vaccines to everyone beginning at their next scheduled flu clinic, Thursday, Dec. 10, from 4p.m. to 8 p.m. at East Elementary School.

Any and all Boone County residents can get a vaccine at the Boone County Health Department on West Worley Street. The public clinic is scheduled Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Flu vaccines are also available from family physicians.

Health officials remind parents that children 10 and younger are recommended to get a second dose of the H1N1 vaccine that should be given 28 days after the first dose.
