BOONE COUNTY -- Dozens of Boone county residents had no telephone service yesterday.

Police say someone stole a 200-foot section of copper wire from between two telephone poles.

It happened in the wooded area between Brock Rodgers and Gans Road.

Century Link says it will cost $15,000 to replace the wiring.

Anyone with information about the crime is asked to contact CrimeStoppers online or at 875-TIPS.
