COLE COUNTY, MO. -- Three of the eight people charged with murder in connection to last month's home invasion robbery in Apache Flats appeared today in a Cole County Courtroom.

Daniel Hynson is the Jefferson City man accused of being the mastermind behind the robbery gone bad.

Court documents said Hynson thought there was $40,000 inside the trailer home and brought-in a handful of accomplices from Kansas City to help carry-out the robbery on Oct. 5.

Once inside, three residents fought back. One resident shot and killed one of the robbers.

But prosecutors charged the alleged robbers with second-degree murder since someone died during act of a felony something Hynson's attorney plans to fight.

"We plan on disputing everything at this point,” Hynson's Attorney Clifford Cornell said. “When we appeared today, we entered pleas of not guilty to all three counts that are charged against Mr. Hynson."

Two of Hynson's alleged accomplices, Leetez Hawkins and Terry White also appeared before Judge Richard Callahan today.

Along with second-degree murder, the three also face charges of felony robbery and armed criminal action.

White has applied for a public defender and finds out next month if he qualifies, Hynson and Hawkins are both scheduled for March trial dates.
