Additional victims identified, sixth person arrested

LEXINGTON, MO. -- Update, Nov. 12:

Authorities have identified additional victims and arrested a sixth adult in connection with a child sex abuse case in western Missouri.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says Larry Kidd, 55, from Kansas City was arrested Thursday night without incident. Kidd is not related to the other five defendants and is described as an "associate" of the others, who include a 77-year-old man and his four adult sons.

The highway patrol says the man was arrested in Jackson County on suspicion of raping a child under 14 years of age. He was taken to a jail in neighboring Lafayette County Jail where the other defendants also are being held.

The arrest came after Wednesday's news conference which resulted in the identification of "additional victims" in the case.

No information was released on the other victims.

Meanwhile, authorities were preparing to resume the search for evidence, including possible bodies, on land in nearby Bates City where the abuse allegedly occurred.
