JC bridge remains open

JEFFERSON CITY -- Missouri's State Emergency Management Agency and the Jefferson City Police Department both confirm to KRCG News that a barge which had broken free upriver of the Jefferson City on the Missouri River has been located near Route 179 and Sandy Hook. Authorities from multiple agencies are getting the barge under control. It does not appear that the Highway 63/US 54 Missouri River Bridge at Jefferson City will need to close.
