COLUMBIA -- Are you ready for some football?

Hundreds of pumped-up Mizzou fans gathered at the Hearnes Center Thursday for a pre-game pep rally.

"Go Tigers," yelled one young fan, who had a Mizzou poster in one hand and a Tigers football in the other.

Fans are excited about the start of another Mizzou football season. The Tigers first game is Saturday in St. Louis against the University of Illinois.

Young fans got their faces painted black and gold. Others lined up to get autographs, clutching toy footballs and pictures.

The team has a lot of new faces this year. Head Coach Gary Pinkel is back for his ninth season with the Tigers.

You can catch the game Saturday on ESPN. Kickoff is at 2:40 p.m.

"I've worked at the university for many, many years," said Tom Henderson, who's been a Mizzou fan for 40 years. "It's just natural to be a Tigers fan."
