Nixon shoots a free throw.
COLUMBIA -- Gov. Nixon got to shoot some hoops Saturday when he stopped by the Show-Me State Games in Columbia.
Wearing a Mizzou shirt, the governor showed off his basketball skills, sinking free throws and perimeter shots. After his workout, Nixon said he's happy to be a part of the games and called them a "great tradition."
"It's a great way not only to compete but equally important to participate and move the health of the state forward," said Nixon. "I've been in all the others at various times, either as a coach or a player. It just brings back a lot of fond memories for Missouri."
This is the 25th anniversary of the games. They wrap up Sunday Aug. 2.
