Football player arrested for possession of painkillers, alcohol and fake ID
COLUMBIA, MO -- An MU freshman football player has been suspended after being arrested for possession of prescription pain killers and alcohol.
During a traffic stop Thursday night, Columbia police say they found 18-year-old freshman quarterback Blaine Dalton in possession of ten hydrocodone pills, alcohol and a fake ID.
He was also charged with three traffic offenses.
The University of Missouri’s athletic department says Dalton has been suspended indefinitely from team activities.
Dalton was a football star at Blue Springs South high school in Kansas City.
He enrolled at Mizzou a semester early in January.
Authorities say he has bonded out of the Boone County Jail.
