NEW YORK (AP) — St. Patrick's Day revelers nationwide are dusting off their derbies and donning shamrock pins and green carnations to celebrate all things Irish.

New Yorkers prepared Tuesday for tens of thousands of people to flood Fifth Avenue for the city's 248th annual parade.

Ciaran (KEY'-rawn) Staunton is serving up an Irish breakfast for the St. Patrick's Day rush at his Manhattan pub. The Ireland native says he plans to take a break to march with his wife, Orlaith (OHR'-luh), and his two young children in the parade.

Even with all the revelry, he says his thoughts are drifting to his unemployed nephews back in his native Ireland.
