WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Barack Obama goes back on the road Tuesday to campaign for his massive economic stimulus package.
The president will take his plea for congressional action to Fort Myers, Florida, which has been among the areas hardest-hit by mortgage foreclosures.
In Elkhart, Indiana Monday, he warned the crisis is so deep it might become irreversible without strong government actions.
During his first White House prime-time news conference Monday night, Obama built on the dire warning, saying if lawmakers fail to act quickly the crisis could turn into a "catastrophe." He warned "This is not your ordinary, run-of-the-mill recession."
