In Poland, the financial freeze has hit ornament makers especially hard since they export their products to other countries, including the United States. Polish officials have stated repeatedly that the economy of the country is in good shape despite the global financial crisis, and have offered guarantees to Polish banks. But that has done little to reassure ornament workers who export 90 percent of their products overseas.
