Amber Alert issued for missing Poplar Bluff girl

UPDATE: She has been found and is safe. Her abductor has been arrested

UPDATE, 4:30 p.m.: Shelton has been charged with second degree domestic assault, felony child kidnapping, first degree burglary and felonious restraint.

UPDATE, 2:15 p.m.:
Abigail has been found and is safe. Shelton has been arrested. They were found in Butler County.

Original: A 5-year-old Poplar Bluff girl was abducted between 10 p.m. Tuesday and 6 a.m. Wednesday.

Authorities are looking for Jeffrey Shelton, a registered sex offender. He is a 45-year-old white man, 6', 175 lbs, with brown hair and green eyes. He is believed to be driving a silver 2001 Nissan Pathfinder with license plate number PJ8Z5M.

The girl, Abigail Bertholf, is biracial and has black hair and brown eyes. She was taken from her bedroom and was last seen wearing a princess nightgown.
