(AP) -- JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) -- Democratic Senator Claire McCaskill and Republican challenger Todd Akin are touting contrasting positions on a wide variety of issues. They say voters should have a clear choice on November 6th.

Their differences extend to health care, education and the economy.

McCaskill voted for the 2008 bank bailout, the 2009 stimulus act, the 2010 health care law and the 2011 debt ceiling expansion that was paired with some spending reductions. Akin voted against all of those measures.

Akin also opposes the federal government's role in issuing student loans, setting the minimum wage and running a Department of Education. McCaskill supports all of those things.

McCaskill supports abortion rights. Akin opposes abortion except in rare cases to save the life of the woman.
