MOBERLY, MO. -- A Huntsville man is facing multiple charges after resisting arrest and assaulting a police officer Friday evening.

Dillon Johnson has been charged with distributing or delivering less than five grams of marijuana and assaulting a law enforcement officer.

An off-duty Moberly Police officer claimed to see Johnson steal a package from a residence on the 1000 block of South 4th Street.

When officers arrived on the scene they made contact with Johnson and determined that he had stolen the package from the residence.

Johnson resisted when an officer tried to arrest him, and then proceeded to assault the officer.

Johnson was then arrested and transported to the Moberly Police Department.

The officer sustained minor injuries.

During the investigation two other Huntsville teens that were with Johnson at the time of the crime, one 14 and the other 16, were detained for stealing and possession of marijuana. They were released back to their parents.

Johnson is being held at the Randolph County Justice Center on $70,000 bond.
