Police investigate a convenience store armed robbery

COLUMBIA -- Columbia Police are investigating a convenience store armed robbery.

It happened just before 5 a.m. Thursday at the Petro Mart at 5612 St. Charles Rd.

Police said two men went in the store and approached the cashier.

One of the men displayed a handgun and demanded money from the clerk while the other stood at the store’s entrance as a lookout.

They got away with an undisclosed amount of money from the store.

Police said they are looking for two black males wearing black jackets.

One of the men was described at being over 6’ with a thin build, wearing a light colored stocking cap, brown work gloves and dark clothing covering his face.

The second man was described as being under 6’, with a medium build.
