Man shot while taking out his trash

The shooting happened at about 10 a.m. Friday in the 4300 block of Santa Barbara

An 18-year-old man was shot in the leg while taking out his trash Friday morning.

He told investigators he was behind the duplex, located in the 4300 block of Santa Barbara, at about 10 a.m. when another man showed up and fired a handgun. The 18 year old said he ran toward the front of the building, where he collapsed because of a gunshot wound in his left calf. He's being treated at a local hospital.

The shooter is described as a light-skinned black man wearing dark clothes, with dreadlocks.
