State and local officials will be on hand for a ribbon cutting ceremony this afternoon to celebrate the realignment and resurfacing of Route 133 near Meta.

The ceremony will take place at Meta Community Ballpark at 1:30 and the public is invited to attend.

The project was designed to improve safety by reducing the grade of a steep hill on the site. The realignment begins about a half mile south of Route B and continues south for about half a mile.

Work began on the $1,000,000 project in early September.

State Representative Tom Loehner, State Representative-elect Tom Hurst and Osage County commissioners will be in attendence.
