Driver extricated from car after head-on collision

Responders were dispatched from the Columbia Fire Department at 2:05 p.m. to the 3000 block of Forum Boulevard, where they found the Accord in a ditch on the northbound side of the road and the Altima blocking the southbound lane.

COLUMBIA, MO. -- The driver of a black Honda Accord had to be extricated from the vehicle after a head-on collision with a red Nissan Altima Thursday afternoon.

Responders were dispatched from the Columbia Fire Department at 2:05 p.m. to the 3000 block of Forum Boulevard, where they found the Accord in a ditch on the northbound side of the road and the Altima blocking the southbound lane.

Crews used hydraulic extrication tools to remove the driver of the Honda. The driver of the Altima was able to get out of the vehicle.

Both drivers were taken to University Hospital and Clinics with non-life threatening injuries.
