A Kingdom City man was arrested after leading a Callaway County deputy on a chase through Fulton early Wednesday.

Corey Brewer didn’t stop a black Ford F-250 for a red light at the intersection of Fifth and Market streets, nearly hitting another vehicle passing through.

The deputy turned his lights and siren on as the F-250 continued west on Fifth Street. Brewer didn’t stop at posted intersections at Court and Jefferson streets, reaching an estimated speed of 60 miles per hour.

Brewer, who is on federal probation, was taken into custody when he finally stopped in a parking lot in the 300 block of Fifth Street. A passenger in the vehicle was released from the scene.

The 29-year-old was charged with careless and imprudent driving, three counts of failure to obey a traffic control device, failure to yield to emergency vehicle, felony resisting arrest while creating a substantial risk of serious injury/death to another person and driving while intoxicated.
