Branch wins first-ward council seat

James Branch has won a seat on Jefferson City Council with nearly 80% of first-ward votes.

JEFFERSON CITY, MO. -- James Branch has won the first-ward seat on Jefferson City Council.

Any candidate receiving more than 50% of the primary vote automatically gets the seat. Branch won Tuesday's primary with 194 votes, nearly 80%.

Chris Holsman received 28 votes for 11.43% of the total vote.

Kolbi Ward received 23 votes for 9.39% of the total vote.

There will be no April election for a first-ward seat.
