A marijuana-growing operation was uncovered at a Jefferson City home Tuesday.

The resident, 38-year-old Angela Parker, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and distribution/delivery/manufacturing of a controlled substance. Parker was taken to the Cole County Sheriff's Department.

Marijuana plants in various stages of growth were confiscated at the home, located in the 800 block of Crestmere. An in-home greenhouse and other items of evidence were also seized by authorities.

The Department of Social Services, Children's Division, responded to the home to look after a child found at the residence.
